Mother Daughter Travel

One of the greatest aspects about my job is the fact that my parents can travel the world for free. I know I could never repay them for all they have done for me, so it means so much to me to share this benefit with them.  In the 5 years I have been a flight attendant my mom and I have travelled together to London, Paris, and Italy. Each year she picks the destination and of course it’s up to me to handle the rest!

This past February we traveled to London, which is her favorite place to visit. This trip we were able to see Hamilton on Broadway, shop at Harrods and have high tea. High tea at Saint Aymes was a highlight from the trip since it is a black-owned shop and is quite possibly the most aesthically pleasing place ever. (pictured below)

The biggest thing I’ve learned from mother-daughter travel is PATIENCE, because we all know — moms will, mom. I’m more of a hit-the-ground-running type of traveler. I like to check in, freshen up, and head straight out to see and do everything I can. My mom is the complete opposite. She is a leisure traveler and would be content with one activity per day.  So typically, I compromise with her and allow her to take it all in, even though the first-class ride is her favorite part anyway.

All in all, I am super blessed to be able to see foreign countries with my mom during her retirement years.  More travel diaries to come.
